Accounting is the language of business and the Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting prepares you for many a career in the challenging world of accounting and finance.
This broad and comprehensive qualification provides you with a sound understanding of, and skills in, the core areas of accounting, auditing, taxation and financial management. You will cover specialised modules such as Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, Taxation and Corporate Governance. Within these subject areas, you will develop analytical and practical skills in accounting and management control systems. You will also cover subject areas such as Business English, Computer Skills, Accounting on Computers, Economics and Corporate Law. The emphasis throughout is on application and developing practical quantitative and financial skills.
You will develop essential skills for the world of work, such as analysing and solving real problems, logical and innovative thinking, working in teams and communicating effectively.
This degree paves the way for further training as a professional accountant.

National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Bachelor degree entry or an equivalent foreign secondary qualification on an NSC level with Bachelor degree entry approved by Universities South Africa (USAF).
If you have an international school-leaving certificate, you need to provide a certificate of exemption issued by Universities South Africa (USAF).
You should have successfully completed the relevant Pearson Institute of Higher Education foundation programme. On successful completion of the foundation programme, students are required to apply to Universities South Africa (USAF) for a certificate of exemption in order to be admitted to a degree programme.

We offer 3 Semesters(Trimesters) a year and new students are able to enrol at any of these start dates. Trimesters have a duration of 12 weeks and students will have a number of activities and tasks to be completed and a live lecture weekly. A formative assessment(exam) needs to be completed on Campus at the end of each Trimester which concludes the module. Students will have a 2 week break between Trimesters to recharge. Typically a part time programme will take a student 18 months to complete a level and about 5 years to complete all three levels while working.
